IDF CSI
The winter of 2009, amid operation “Cast Lead”, an IDF unit suffers a heavy blow when one of the fighters suffers a fatal injury and later dies in hospital. The officers in the field are positive that he got injured from a mortar shell shrapnel and while they continue fighting , a fragment is recovered from the wound and transferred to IDF Materials’ Lab.
The young chemists, in their white lab coats working fast to analyse the tiny fragment, perform various tests and after a couple of hours declare: the soldier was killed by a sniper bullet.
The information passes swiftly down from the lab, near Tel-Aviv, to the unit, in the alleys of Gaza. Based on this new information, the unit seeks and kills the sniper, seconds before he attempts another shot.
